Amazon.com Product Description Get the most from Blu-ray movies and other high-definition media with the advanced performance of the Sony HT-SS2000 Home Theater System. This system includes a powerful 5.1 channel A/V receiver pushing 1000 Watts of power (RMS). Featuring Bravia Theatre Sync, the HT-SS2000 also offers easy one-touch operation of compatible Sony HDMI components, so you no longer need to juggle multiple remote controls. Bravia Theatre Sync technology goes beyond simple audio and video transmission when combined with a select number of Bravia LCD televisions. Control functions will also be transmitted via the HDMI cable. With One Touch Play, operations that took several steps have been reduced to one. The receiver detects and receives the best possible video and audio signals from all connected devices, making connection and performance as simple as plugging in a single wire. Sony's HDMI Active Intelligence produces both audio and video through one HDMI cable. Connect the included microphone and with a push of a button, the speakers are automatically adjusted to your favorite listening position. Additionally, the simplified front-side audio and video connections make it easy to play music stored on portables through the receiver.

Great home theater for the price May 8, 2008 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
I just got this system two days ago and so far it has exceeded my expectations. The sound quality is amazing and setup was fairly easy. The only way I think it could have been better for me is if my TV were a sony bravia(HDMI control) but I'll live with the extra remote. The only other improvement I could see needed would be an on-screen menu. Yeah, staring at the little display on the unit definately is a little irritating. But its quick. And oh yeah, dont do the auto calibration thing. Big mistake. You can get way better sound if you scroll through the menus and spend the extra 5 minutes doing it yourself. BUY IT! And as for the people who said the wires were too short and the system is weak, ALL LIES unless you put the thing in a 50x50 room and you sit a hundred yards away. lol. This thing will make your ears bleed if you want it to. Seriously.
Great and reasonably priced January 28, 2008 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I purchased this to go with my Sony Bravia 52" LCD HDTV. I haven't had a lot of Sony products in the past but I decided to go with this because of the price and the syncing with other Sony products. This is my first home theater system and I have been impressed. Set up was simple and I had no problems. I simply connected other components with HDMI cables into the respective inputs and one HDMI cable from the receiver to the TV. This does not include a DVD Player as some do. Be careful when purchasing, some home theaters do NOT have HDMI inputs! When I turn on/off the TV, the home theater also turns on/off. I am impressed.
Great System April 25, 2008 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
For around 3 bills I don't see how you could find anything better than this Sony system. Take the time to calibrate on your own (read the manual) and the sound will be worth well more than what you spent. Ordered this from Amazon and was at my place in like 2 days....I really cant complain about anything with this system....its so much better than TV sound and has a lot of power. If you want inexpensive, crisp 5.1 audio with 3 HDMI inputs, go get this baby.
Sony HT-HH-SS2000 Blu-ray Matching Component HTS January 23, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is a great product. Cannot say enough good things about it. Not a complaint, but a note, I recieved this item in a box that listed the correct identification. However, when I went on line to register this item, the model number listed on the receiver was GTR-KS2000. After calling Sony Customer Service and going on line, I learn the item was indeed the one as identifed. I do not consider this a fault.
As good as it gets March 27, 2008 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
Sony...a name we all love and trust. I had a friend who just bought a Bose surround sound system (approx. $450). It sounds very good. I just hooked up my Sony HT-SS2000. Let me say that personally, the less expensive, better looking Sony (to match my Sony Blu-Ray player BDP-S301), sounds much cleaner and fuller than my friend's Bose system. To top that, even he likes it a little better. I read the review before I bought this HTIB and people were saying that it was okay for the price and it was okay for a small room. My living room is about 16 x 16 and not only does it fill the room with sound but I can hear it outside with the door closed and the sound turned only halfway up.
I tend to try to stick with Sony. I already mentioned my relatively new Blu-Ray player (if you don't have one, get the BDP-S300 or S301). Aside from the PS3 these particular players have the fastest load times. Once the movie is loaded, the player is as fast as a dvd player. I digress...back to the matter at hand. A few people mentioned that the passive subwoofer (no power cord to plug in...runs from signal straight from receiver)was sub-par. B.S....this subwoofer sounds phenomenal!
Bottom line, Sony products rock and this system is the finest of the finest. Do yourself a favor and get this awesome system while you can. Why not get some speaker stands too and really set this thing up. With Amazon, you can't go wrong anyways (love that Amazon Prime).
